On January 14, 2019, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Masud Khalifazoda met with the Head of the Department of Diplomatic Affairs of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Mr Arif Lalani and the President of the Ismaili Centre in London Mr Liakat Hasham.

The meeting highlighted issues related to the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Aga Khan Development Network in the fields of energy, health, education, science, culture, rural development, tourist infrastructure and folk crafts.

The Aga Khan Development Network is a secular international development agency with branches and representative offices in 30 countries. AKDN in Tajikistan started its activities since 1992 and cooperates with the Republic of Tajikistan in various sectors of the national economy.

On November 23, 2018, the 7th International Forum on Mining and Exploration- MINEX-2018 under the motto “Mining & Investment Prospects In Eurasia” was held in London, UK.

MINEX Forum is a leading mining event and knowledge exchange platform dedicated to the promotion of technological excellence, regulation and investment in the countries of Eurasian continent. The main object of the MINING Forum is to promote the sustainable development of the mining industry across Eurasia.

Representatives from governments, diplomatic corps of the United Kingdom, including the embassies of Tajikistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, leaders of investment companies, private sector organizations and other interested parties who have been directly involved in the mining industry, participated in the above-mentioned event.

During the Forum, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom made statement on the potential development of the mining industry in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the capacity of the country's mineral resources.

On November 8, 2018 at the Headquarter of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, held the 3rd Conference of "Environmental Remediation Account for Central Asia (ERA)" with the participation of representatives of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, international organizations, as well as project’s donor countries.

This conference was attended by the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Shavkat Bobozoda.

The Environmental Remediation Account for Central Asia (ERA) was established in 2015 at the initiative of the European Commission and became operational in 2016. The aim of the account is to pool donor funds to assist the Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan to remediate some of the most dangerous sites left by uranium production in these countries.
