On September 3, 2021, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Muzaffar Huseinzoda met with the Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon.

During the meeting, issues of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom in various fields, cooperation within international organizations, including joint initiatives in the field of the environment and preparations for the UN Conference on Climate Change COP26, that will be held in November 2021 in Glasgow, were discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and expressed their readiness to strengthen and expand cooperation in the regional and international formats.

On September 2, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Dominic Raab.

During the call, the parties held constructive talks on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including strengthening the border and climate change.

In the process of conversation, the sides focused on the problems of Afghanistan and the current critical development of the situation in that country.

On September 1, 2021 the Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Masud Khalifazoda held joint meeting with the EBRD Managing Director for Central Asia – Zsuzsanna Hargitai, the EBRD Associate Director, Head of Tajikistan – Rika Ishii and the Regional Head of Tajikistan for the EBRD – Ayten Rustamova.

During the meeting, the subjects related to supporting the priority projects in energy sector, development of green economy, stabilization of the macroeconomic situation, implementation of investment projects and other topics of cooperation were discussed.
