Celebration Navruz at Cambridge University

On 18 March 2017 the Embassy of Tajikistan took part in the magnificent Central Asian Spring Festival Navruz at the Cambridge University.

The event was organised by the Cambridge Central Asia Forum together with the Cambridge University Student Societies and the Embassies of Central Asian countries in the UK.

The round table discussion attended by the ambassadors and heads of missions from Central Asian countries and indeed other experts and scholars from University of Cambridge was dedicated to 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom.

Cultural program of the event focused on music from Central Asia region. Impressive traditional Tajik dancing performed by Ms Mariam Gaibova who holds a title of “Meritorious dancer of Tajikistan” showcased the richness and unique experience of national culture of Tajikistan.

This was a wonderful chance to discover the different cultures of Central Asia, traditional costumes, dance, music and samples of regional food.
